I had one of the early models made by SkyCaddie, and this device is far superior. It's easier to use, holds 20 downloaded courses (as opposed to 10), finds the course you are at (as opposed to scrolling through a list), is waterproof (as opposed to water resistant), cost far less to get a one year membership to downloadable courses, and turns on in seconds with distances (as opposed to minutes). The 2008 model measures the distance from your last shot so you can tell how far you are hitting each club.
It's very easy to use. Just turn it on. I had no trouble downloading the courses, and I am a Mac user with the Mac Leopard operating system. The Garmin algorithn for finding distances is quick and accurate.
I really like it and can't imaging playing golf without it!
As the title suggest, this product does exactly what it says it will do. Very reliable. A big plus is the ease of using the software to load and to modify the course selections. Very simple and straightforward. Nice product.
I am very happy with this unit. I have found it to be accurate when conparing it with other GPS units as well as course markings. Very handy when a hazard is not in view like a stream or bunkers. I think the course selection Golflogix offers is also very good, and reasonably priced. My new golf toy....and I like it.
This GPS is excellent. My course was available and has a very detailed profile, showing distances to hazards, doglegs and lay-up distances. A lot of people I play golf with have Sky Caddies and they all like this GPS better. Works great, very accurate and very easy to use. I use rechargable batteries and they last about 4-5 rounds before changing. I don't know how I got along without one of these for so long. Highly recommend this product.
Choosing the right GPS or Laser Rangefinder to buy can be confusing, right?
